I was off travelling the world when I met and fell madly in love with a deployed Marine. Even if the church believes a bunch of crazy nonsense, and she believes it too, I still really like her and would like to see whether we can have some good intellectual conversations about this stuff. On the other hand, if you believe God is bigger than we can imagine, and is not constrained by religious dogma, you have as good a chance as any at a happy, thriving relationship. We went from having sex several times a day on the weekends, to once a week.
However, if you are a Catholic guy dating a Mormon girl, then remember that her parents may be averse to it. Since a very young age, these girls have gazed at handsome paintings of Jesus and prophets, and learned to respect men who have spiritual confidence in their eyes. So I knew what I was getting into when I married him though I secretly hoped he would still convert back. I really felt overwhelmed with the loneliness and no support. I do not threaten lightly. If you have tended to straddle the line between light and dark in the past, or have been a partier, expect to make some changes for this relationship, and expect certain things from your new crush.
It is not the norm. Because Utah mormons are waayyy different than mormons everywhere else. When out on a date with a Mormon guy or girl, be very decent, courteous, and well-mannered. It's tough to date a med student let alone a resident.
Unconditional love, excellent communication, and unwavering support. You must either really love blue balls, or else she is not a real deal Mormon girl. The church really needs to tailor to more partial LDS families, imho.
